The Anwar-ul Islam Movement of Nigeria, Lagos Mission, has turbanned Alhaji Abdul Kareem Lawal as the Chief Imam of the organization. He noted that this late official turbanning ceremony does not make Imam Lawal lose his seniority within the community of Alfas in the movement. Ojelade added that, this is the first time in the history of the Lagos Mission that some members (including the deceased), would be listed out for service recognition awards. The Iyalode of Lagos, Alhaja Bintu Tinubu, urged members of Anwar-ul Islam to unite in order to continue to propagate the activities of the organization. Lagos Mission Chairman, Alhaji Muftau Salau, commended those who stood by the group during the period of challenges.
